In Loving Memory of our Mother McKenzie

On Saturday, June 13, 2020, our beloved founder and CEO, went home to be with the Lord.

Mother McKenzie in 1998, was compelled to launch ATTCOM out of her home church of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. For the first year, she and her family funded and financed the program and once a month serviced approximately 25 families. As the need for resources grew, Mother SamElla found additional support to not only feed up to 300 families, but toprovide toys and coats at Christmas, counseling and support for the neglected, job skills training for youth during the summer, and a young woman’s mentorship program.

Through the organization, Mother McKenzie was consistently introduced to young women burdened with crises. Mother McKenzie spoke of her vision from God to build a facility for young girls that would be a place of refuge.

In 2018, Mother McKenzie purchased land and held a press conference to announce the future home of the SamElla Hope Center.
