Weekly Food Pantry and Resource Center
To eradicate the effects of hunger, ATTCOM opens it’s doors every Saturday to underserved and low income men, women, children and the homeless from all over the City of Chicago. On average, 180 people are supplied with free food including USDA meats, fruits and vegetables every week.
In addition, our participants have their pick of new and gently used clothes, toiletries, household goods, toys and school supplies – all donated and or funded through tax deductible charitable contributions. ATTCOM’s counselors and volunteers are on hand to assist and provide invaluable advice, information, resources, news of employment opportunities as well as make referrals to appropriate social service organizations.
In partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, ATTCOM distributed over 100,000 pounds of in 2020. And Through the perseverance and commitment of ATTCOM’s leadership and of dedicated volunteers and partners, ATTCOM remained open and a trusted resource through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the love and generous donations from its partners BJB Partners, the Park Forest families and Community, Soudan Metals and loving church family and volunteers, for 10 consecutive years, ATTCOM brought Christmas, through new coats, boots, gloves, hats scarfs and toys, to more than 300 families in the West Englewood Community. In Partnership with Food for Friends and local grocers, ATTCOM provided hot meals and Holiday Turkey’s and Hams to families in the West Englewood Community, men shelters and the homeless sleeping under lower Wacker Drive. Through cards, letters and public announcements, participants express that the services and support they receive through this outreach ministry, supplements what their fixed, low and or no income does not.
