WE Feed The Hungry
Weekly Food Pantry and Resource Center
To eradicate the effects of hunger, ATTCOM opens it’s doors every Saturday to underserved and low income men, women, children and the homeless from all over the City of Chicago. On average, 280 people are supplied with free food including USDA meats, fruits and vegetables every week.
In addition, our participants have their pick of new and gently used clothes, toiletries, household goods, toys and school supplies – all donated and or funded through tax deductible charitable contributions. ATTCOM’s counselors and volunteers are on hand to assist and provide invaluable advice, information, resources, news of employment opportunities as well as make referrals to appropriate social service organizations.
In partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, ATTCOM distributed over 8000 bags of food in 2018. Through generous donations from it’s partners and volunteers, ATTCOM distributed more than 385 warm coats, hats, scarfs and gloves. And, provided hot meals and Holiday Turkey’s and Hams to families in the West Englewood Community, men shelters and the homeless sleeping under lower Wacker Drive, in the City of Chicago. Through cards, letters and public announcements, participants express that the services and support they receive through this outreach center, supplements what their fixed, low and or no income does not.
