ATTCOM’s Programs and Services

Through volunteers and your donations, our outreach now brings hope to:

  • Homeless individuals and local shelters
  • Single-parent and low-income families
  • Elementary school children in need
  • Elderly citizens with fixed incomes
  • Seniors faced with sole guardianship of their abandoned grandchildren
  • Residents with independent living arrangements
  • People with mental and developmental disorders
  • Rehabilitated ex-offenders

Working with our partners, ATTCOM provides the following programs and services to community residents: 

  • Back To School Jamboree
  • Christmas In West Englewood Toy and Coat Giveaway
  • Thanksgiving and Christmas feeding of the homeless at the Pacific Garden Mission and Royal Hotel for Men
  • Lower Wacker Drive food and street ministry to the homeless
  • Weekly food pantry
  • Overseas Mission – Africa, Israel, Switzerland and India – Bibles, clothes and toiletries to Boys’ and Girls’ homes
  • Crisis Counseling of unwed mothers and pregnant teens
  • Child care services
  • Street and jail ministry
  • Educational and college preparatory counseling and guidance
  • Occupational Therapy and Etiquette Training
  • Abstinence education
  • Referral Services for housing
  • Financial and health services
  • Transportation assistance

Samella McKenzie, an 82-year old entrepreneur and mother of 10, can not and will not stop until her dream of building a center for abused women in Chicago comes to fruition. Motivated by her faith, her family, and her concern for the women in Englewood, she continues to push for this center to be built. This is her Vision of Hope.
